The Chicago police riot in defense of genocide

Tonight, Brandon Johnson’s Chicago Police Department (CPD) rioted in defense of the genocide convention, the Death and Nakba Coronation (DNC). Protesters gathered in front of the Zionist Israeli consulate to denounce the US-Israel genocide on Gaza. While the criminals orchestrating that genocide were gathered less than two miles away, the CPD waged a ferocious assault on free speech. People protesting a genocide were forcefully thrown to the ground, dragged forward, kettled by the police, beaten with batons, and prevented from leaving the protest, resulting in violent mass arrests of protesters, journalists, and photographers.

Brandon Johnson’s CPD is an enemy of free expression and CPD Superintendent Larry Snelling is a liar. Tonight’s police riot was a continuation of the CPD’s long tradition of repressing righteous protest against the ruling class: from 1968, to 2020, to tonight. Brandon Johsnon and Larry Snelling can lie about protesters who rightfully want to confront this illegitimate question all they want. The reality is that every arrest, every bit of brutality toward protesters, and every person slammed against the concrete falls squarely on Brandon Johnson and his thugs in the CPD.

The violent force in the streets tonight was the CPD, acting in defense of the genocide convention happening in the enclosed citadel of the United Center. The Israeli consulate represents the mass slaughter of Palestinians, the annihilation of whole families, the destruction of schools, churches, mosques, and homes. The DNC represents children ripped to shreds by US-made bombs and the concentration camp Sde Teiman. This is what Brandon Johnson and Larry Snelling’s thugs brutalized protesters to defend tonight. This is what the city of Chicago welcomed with the Death and Nakba Coronation.
