Dad was a 'Nam vet. He was an anomaly. Lied about his age to join grew up living off the land in Appalachia said the Nam was almost like home. Did 3 voluntary tours because he said he was good at it. Went to jungle warfare school, was a combat engineer became a jungle expert trainer and patrolled with Green Berets they liked him he did their ordnance work.
Died early two years ago bc the VA hooked him on opiates then cut off his supply. The shock of withdrawal caused him to have a heart attack in the VA Dr's office.
