I think the best microcosm for what’s happening publicly to the cabal is found with the Star Wars franchising having two poorly reviewed movies and a bomb.

They tried to do too much too fast, and overestimated their influence and base. Now the public has all but turned on them, and those still loyal find themselves on the defensive. Not the default.
