I have a Q re the F16 that was "shot down" recently. some msm are saying it was a patriot system.
Just wondering how that is possible? Surly a "defence" syatem would recognise ones own planes vs the other sides plane somehow?
or did the pilot push a wrong button / pull stick wrong way based on a Mig Plane or something? just seems a bit sus

So the patriot system shoots ANY plane…the F16 can't ID self to stop it…thought that woud have been a 'basic' feature in a 'western' product. Sounds like early days when inch size ammo sent to fit into mm size guns or something.
