So ABC News have nominated David Muir and Linsey Davis to host the 90-minute conversation at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia on Tuesday, but what do we know about them?

 

Both are highly-experienced journalists, with Muir serving as the World News Tonight anchor and managing editor, whilst Davis is the ABC News Live primetime anchor so both have been around the block when it comes to politicians and interviews.

 

It could actually be they are the reason why ABC News have introduced strict rules to ensure the debate remains concise and precise such as no opening statements, two minutes per candidate per closing statements and microphones only being turned on for the candidate due to speak.

 

Harris and Trump will be allowed two minutes to answer each question and can offer a two-minute rebuttal to their rival as well as an additional minute for any follow-up, clarification, or response.

 

There will be no props or pre-written notes, although they will be able to write their own down as the debate goes on after being permitted a paper pad, pen and bottle of water. Campaign staff must not interact with their candidates.
