Leaked US Army Documents: Thousands Of Violent Venezuelan Prison Gang Members Run Amok Across America

Investigative reporter James O'Keefe published unclassified information from the US Army North Division on X, revealing that the Venezuelan prison gang wreaking havoc across the northern Denver suburb of Aurora has become a nationwide crisis. Law-abiding Americans will soon feel the growing consequences of the Biden-Harris administration's failed open southern border policies (recall what's happening in Springfield, Ohio) of importing the third world into the first world.

"O'Keefe Media Group has obtained Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) from the US Army of the North Division, highlighting the growing presence of one of Venezuela's largest criminal organizations in the US. The document states that Tren de Aragua "has established a presence in Brooklyn, Bronx, and Williamsburg, NY, "with "approximately 400 TdA members" living in these cities. The CUI also warns that TdA members in Denver "have been given a 'green light' to fire on or attack law enforcement," with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in New York receiving a similar report.

The document details how the criminal organization is using advanced technology and surveillance, heightening the danger to US military personnel and law enforcement. It states, "Coordinated efforts between local, state, federal law enforcement, and the military are crucial" to protect against these expanding threats.

With National Guardsmen recently seen in subway stations across New York City, the situation is escalating as Venezuelan gang members, linked to the TdA, have been involved in violent incidents, including an attack on a Colorado apartment complex in late August.

Las Vegas candidate attacked with a knife while putting up campaign signs

A Las Vegas Valley man putting up his own campaign signs was cut with a knife after an ambush by a robber.

The ordeal happened Thursday August 29 after 4 p.m., in a neighborhood east of Pecos Rd. and Twain Avenue.

67-year-old Stanley Vaughan, running as the Republican in Assembly District 20, decided to walk solo in triple-digit temperatures, putting up signs for himself and other candidates. He said a robber demanded his wallet, then cut him with a knife.

“I‘m so focused on getting the cable ties through and getting them through the fence, I wasn’t paying attention to pedestrians and stuff coming through here. I had my back turned. I turned around, caught me by surprise– then he started to lunge at me. I instinctively kicked him and he ran away,” Vaughan said, leaning into his Army training and martial arts skills.

“I jumped into the car, and then I’m realizing I’m bleeding,” he said, rushing home for his wife, a nurse, to treat the wound.

School Monitoring Software Sacrifices Student Privacy For Unproven Promises of Safety

As multiple schools move to install artificial intelligence surveillance technology on student devices, the risk for privacy violations remain high while the benefits are sparse at best.

Imagine your search terms, key-strokes, private chats and photographs are being monitored every time they are sent. Millions of students across the country don’t have to imagine this deep surveillance of their most private communications: it’s a reality that comes with their school districts’ decision to install AI-powered monitoring software such as Gaggle and GoGuardian on students’ school-issued machines and accounts. As we demonstrated with our own Red Flag Machine, however, this software flags and blocks websites for spurious reasons and often disproportionately targets disadvantaged, minority and LGBTQ youth.

The companies making the software claim it’s all done for the sake of student safety: preventing self-harm, suicide, violence, and drug and alcohol abuse. While a noble goal, given that suicide is the second highest cause of death among American youth 10-14 years old, no comprehensive or independent studies have shown an increase in student safety linked to the usage of this software. Quite to the contrary: a recent comprehensive RAND research study shows that such AI monitoring software may cause more harm than good.

That study also found that how to respond to alerts is left to the discretion of the school districts themselves. Due to a lack of resources to deal with mental health, schools often refer these alerts to law enforcement officers who are not trained and ill-equipped to deal with youth mental crises. When police respond to youth who are having such episodes, the resulting encounters can lead to disastrous results. So why are schools still using the software–when a congressional investigation found a need for “federal action to protect students’ civil rights, safety, and privacy”? Why are they trading in their students’ privacy for a dubious-at-best marketing claim of safety?

Experts suggest it's because these supposed technical solutions are easier to implement than the effective social measures that schools often lack resources to implement. I spoke with Isabelle Barbour, a public health consultant who has experience working with schools to implement mental health supports. She pointed out that there are considerable barriers to families, kids, and youth accessing health care and mental health supports at a community level. There is also a lack of investment in supporting schools to effectively address student health and well-being. This leads to a situation where many students come to school with needs that have been unmet and these needs impact the ability of students to learn. Although there are clear and proven measures that work to address the burdens youth face, schools often need support (time, mental health expertise, community partners, and a budget) to implement these measures. Edtech companies market largely unproven plug-and-play products to educational professionals who are stretched thin and seeking a path forward to help kids. Is it any wonder why schools sign contracts which are easy to point to when questioned about what they are doing with regard to the youth mental health epidemic?

At Least 25 Killed, Scores Wounded in Intense Israeli Attacks on Central Syria

Strikes targeted scientific research facility in Masyaf

Sunday night it was reported that Israel had carried out a flurry of airstrikes against central Syria, killing a number of people. It is now being reported that the attacks were much more intense than initially thought, with a much higher toll.

It is now being reported that Israel killed at least 25 people and wounded more than 40, with the attacks centering on a the Syrian Military Scientific Studies and Research Center in Masyaf. The killed included at least four soldiers and intelligence personal, and five civilians.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which tends to be used as a mouthpiece for opposition groups, said that the Masyaf site is used to work on precision missiles and drones.

The Israeli Defense Forces have refused to comment on the attack at all, saying they do not offer comments on any reports that emerged in foreign media. In 2022, however, Israel’s Benny Gantz claimed that the site was being used by Syria to produce advanced missiles for its proxies.

Israel attacks targets in Syria on a pretty regular basis, but this is a particularly extreme example. In addition to the strikes on the Masyaf facility, attacks also caused a substantial forest fire on nearby wooded areas.

Beyond Masyaf, there were also reported strikes in and around Damascus, and elsewhere in the Hama Province. There were explosions reported in the coastal city of Tartus, though it appears this was related to Syria’s air defense systems being activated to try to intercept some of the attacking Israeli missile fire.

Masyaf’s hospital is reporting that a lot of wounded have been taken there for treatment. The exact number of wounded keeps rising, including people harmed in the strike and wounded in the ensuing shrapnel. There are several people reportedly in serious condition, so the death toll may continue to rise going forward.
