SAN ANDREAS - The shooting deaths of Phillip Marshall and his children two months ago was not a hit job, according to a six-page media release issued Friday by the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office.
From the beginning, investigators here have said that the deaths of Alex Marshall, 17, Macaila Marshall, 14, and Phillip Marshall, 54, were a murder-suicide. The three bodies were found in their Forest Meadows home Feb. 2 when friends of Alex and Macaila went to their home to find out why they had not had a text message or phone call from the two in several days.
