If cgi, remote control, missile, or whatever was used in the attacks beside the planes hijacked, the hijacked planes still had to be flown somewhere.
If I remember correctly, an argument was made that private lessons the hijackers took couldn't help them with the controls of a jetliner.
Who flew the planes to final destination?
Was it the hijackers? Pilots who were in on it?
They would have to land somewhere. Or ditch in the ocean.
Somewhere where the planes/wreckage wouldn't be found.

In the early 2000's, I know airlines had real life flight simulators also, so possibly had them pre-2001 as well.
So much research done on the attacks themselves, but what of the actual planes hijacked?
Where did they go and who flew them?
