I have a dog and a couple kitties and a big orange cat I call big kitty that likes be outside at night, not my cat but sleeps inside my house during the day
I just was out about 11pm here, and throwing some trash in the bin and I saw big kitty, and I bent down to pet him and his eyes were deep orange, almost red!
he didn't act any different and before going in the house I turned around to look at him to make sure of what I saw and his eyes were still that deep color like when in twilight movie the vampires eyes turn reddish gold,
