.Last month, Greene Township received an inquiry from USA Up Star, a disaster relief contractor based in Indiana, asking if the location could be permitted for use as โa shelter forchild refugees within the United States,โ according to information provided by the township.
The companyโs previous discussion with Franklin Countyโs development agency indicated the Scotland campus would house boys who had crossed the U.S. border unaccompanied and were awaiting placement by immigration authorities.
Such a use would not be legal under current zoning code, Greene Township told USA Up Star, and the township has received no further information from the company.
