Well if they took BO into custody, and after a good waterboarding or "torture" session they got him to spill his guts… would it be more acceptable to lower his criminal penalties as long as he admitted all?
No. But if offender had help, gave names, and lead us to more criminals, and more bodies… maybe charges would be different depending on how much info he gave.
