Michelle Obama Would Pull Justin Bieber Close

It’s practically inscribed in this season’s “reporter’s law book” that you must ask your subject about his or her thoughts on Justin Bieber (last season’s law book, obviously, included a mandate to ask your subject about Miley Cyrus). So, even though she basically has nothing to do with him—other than having met him a few times (back when Bieber had the mop cut, long before these semi-dark days of eggings and drag races)—Michelle Obama, during an interview today, was asked what kind of parenting she believes the 19-year-old celebrity needs.

“I would pull him close. You know, I don’t know if it would be advice as much as action,” Obama told Univision Radio. “I would be very present in his life right now. And I would be probably with him a good chunk of the time, just there to talk, to figure out what's going on in his head, to figure out who’s in his life and who’s not.”
