That rifle is an SKS, the older brother to the AK-47. It was popular in the Vietnam war. It shoots the same round as the AK. It is a smooth shooting .30 caliber round generally effective out to 200 yards but deadly much further in trained hands. It is significantly more powerful than the .223 caliber AR round. Anon has an SKS (and an AK) and has his wife trained on it so she can be dropping zombies with that while anon uses something with a little more authority.
