Did they have anything in common? How would the EU benefit/profit from being able to acquire the market of places like Iran? WHO would benefit? The rulers of the EU and the mullahs and possibly the general population to some extent at least, but most likely with some kind of strings attached. Iran is neither a friend of the US nor of Israel.
