fwiw, there is a lawfirm a block away from hubers utah office with 470 (their claim) lawyers coast to coast, and adisproportionate number of the sealed files/cases/ indictments are in states where deputization of prosecutors or private criminal prosecution is legal.

i was playing with this theory a while back.
the indictment lays out a pretty wide timeframe between hack/transfer/media contact.
stranahan claims he's the one in the indictment BUT at least four other journalists have come forward stating they made similar contact.
the d/l i have shows that the files were last transferred into the collection on july 13. the reporter was contacted august 22.
there's no reason to expect that the hackers sat on the files for 6 months and didn't do anything with them…any number of players could have had enough access to appear to be "ze russians".
i believe that the russian indictment is handwaving strictly to distract…especially since it's straight lifted from Webb's lawsuit.
