What's the real deal?

…with these old huge buildings? These world's fairs? Also, what really happened in 1890 and before? Why did history change then?

Claimed that the buildings were all made of plaster of Paris and were designed to only be temporary.

But they're too elaborate and huge for that to make sense to me.

My hunch is that they were State owned buildings that were all demolished when the republic was captured in 1871, and the corporation was erected in its place.

And then, as much history was erased/re-written about the real Republic of the United States of America as they could.
