X7.1 and X9 heading towards earth right now.

The X9 is the strongest of this solar cycle.

Auroras may be pretty impressive over the weekend and will probably seen further south than usual.

According to Ben at SO this may bring network outages but less than a 5% chance of ending our digital age. I’ll keep eyes on and report here if anything more significant develops.
