Well some apples do get bugs in them, and some rot, so we have to cut off bad parts to eat them. You also need a decent apple picker, or you'll have to shake the branches to get them down (which may bruise a bit). Apple trees will attract other wildlife like deer, which may be good or bad, depending the circumstance. But hell, all that work is better than starving during a crisis.
Btw anons who have apple trees, you have to try an old American dish called Apples and Cabbage sometime, it is delicious!
Fry up 6 strips of bacon (or more if you prefer), set them aside. Cut up 8 apples into thin slices. Get a head of cabbage and cut that all up. Throw in apples and cabbage in a pot with the bacon grease and cook it down for a while, stir it up occasionally. Then add the bacon when the apples and cabbage are soft and tender. It makes a wonderful flavorful dish.
Forgot to mention, crumble the cooked bacon before you add it to the dish.
I'm not going to lie, I intended, much earlier, to go sit down and watch some Threes Company on my dvd player and head off to bed so I could get a rest from all this horrific news. But for better or for worse, I came back on here and looked for more updates. It really saddens me, I personally know two people who moved to NC, luckily I was given notice that they are OK and so is their home (with minimum damage). It's hard to go to bed knowing all the horror that is happening and the fact so many people are suffering. It is hard to believe our government is making things harder and worse for those victims. What a fucking travesty. Something akin to being in a fascist or communist country really.

Yah, me too, problem is you can't put the salt in the sprayer because it will clog it up eventually and you'll be paying another $120 for another 5 gallon sprayer. So I put the salt down first, then I spray with the vinegar and soap.
It is the price of a good quality 5 gallon sprayer today sadly! That was not the case 8 years ago, used to only cost half that. Inflation is a bitch these days.
We do what we can with the money and resources we have. Luckily I took notice the corruption was getting really bad since 9/11 and eventually I decided it is best to be prepared and eventually years later trying to be as self-sufficient as possible too. Prepping, like stocking up on assets, will only last you a year if lucky but being able to salvage, build things and grow food can keep you alive when supplies start running out.
From what I can tell, via online research and gossip, it is different from location to location. Some cities and towns are getting the needed help, many are not at all or very little, and in some areas the feds and LE are being total treasonous dickheads blocking aid and so on. It seems to vary depending where the residents are. This leads me to believe land grabs in certain areas were part of a plan, and the government may be willing to kill people over it.
Raccoons tend to be the pests out where I live, they will destroy a whole tomato plant just to get one tomato. It's ridiculous. I set up several traps, then shoot 'em in the head with my small Browning .22, throw the carcasses back into the woods.
Luckily I have never had a problem with them, maybe because the raccoons? Another thing raccoons do is they do kill other animals. I've had my chickens have their heads bitten off and the blood sucked dry from their bodies by raccoons. They'll kill plants, livestock, destroy anything really.
I have seen a tweet earlier where some rescue crew DID have the Starlink system and thanked Elon, then again I heard other areas are being denied access to them, and the FCC trying to prohibit widespread use over some bullshit nefarious reason. I think Elon is at least trying to distribute them.

There are a ton more horrific stories too, like FEMA and local LE blocking essential aid and services in certain areas, and the one that makes my blood boil over…. FEMA blocking clean up crews, ordering all the trash be left where it is to contaminate and rot which is a major health and environmental hazard. I've even heard people crying about how the media was covering-up the real death toll and land is starting to smell of rotting bodies with no assistance, no help on the way.
