I wish I couldn't believe that these idiots thought people would desperately seek out masters to learn from over the fucking Internet of all things. But, that's exactly how they've always lived their lives, so it didn't even occur to them that others might not share their perspective.
Bingo. The perspective presented in The Matrix is one order of magnitude beneath what actually exists. It's the very same tired old con where intellectually bankrupt bloodlines assert that they themselves are the creators and/or custodians of the entire world itself, destined to failure when people inevitably learn that the emperor does not, in fact, have any clothes.
They will see, but that revelation will bring a reckoning swiftly, so for now we try to defuse as many hanging conflicts as we can in preparation.
