X1.8 Flare Underway from Directly Earth Facing Sunspot.

A CME is being produced and the radio signatures are suggesting it is large and VERY fast. .

Type II (CME) and Type IV (large CME) radio signatures were received and clocked at over 5,000 km/s. For reference CMEs are frequently in the hundreds of km/s with seemingly fast ones over 1,000 km/s. Yeah.

As usual it's too early to tell what if anything is coming our way, but once we know, I doubt we'll have to wait long for it.

5176 km/s is about 11.6 million mph. If maintained it could conceivably make the Sun to Earth trip in about 7.77 hours. Not days.

I keep thinking it was a typo; which they (SWPC) are usually very quick to admit and correct. Neither have occured. Even Solar Ham was thinking it was a typo, so I'm not alone at least.
