Spain's Prime Minister Calls on EU To Suspend Free Trade Agreement With Israel

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has called on other European Union members to join #Spain and Ireland in their request to suspend the EU's free trade agreement with "Israel" due to its actions in #Gaza and Lebanon.
Sanchez urged his counterparts on Monday to "respond" to the ongoing discussions between Madrid, Dublin, and other EU countries regarding a review of the EU-"Israel" Association Agreement, citing concerns that "Israel" may be violating the agreement's human rights clause.
This follows Sanchez’s Friday statement when he urged the international community to "stop exporting arms to the Israeli government" in response to its ongoing war on Gaza and Lebanon. After meeting with Pope Francis in Rome, he further condemned Israeli attacks on the United Nations mission in Lebanon, saying, "Let me at this point criticize and condemn the attacks that the Israeli armed forces are carrying out."
