It wasn’t fun growing up with the specter of annihilation, particularly in Western Europe.
I, like most people alive at that time, was overjoyed by the Polish Revolution, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the ousting of Ceausescu, etc. And with the fall of the Soviet Union, we all were confident of rational foreign policy and international relations.
And so it seemed for a few years. But TPTB cannot stomach a peaceful world. What they have done to squander, with utter malice towards humanity and grave robbing the USSR, the prospect of true peace and cooperation must not be forgotten or forgiven.
Thank God we have POTUS. But there is a long way to go to recapture the hope we felt in the early ‘90s, Iraq I notwithstanding.
