Amazon To Invest More Than $500 Million In Small Modular Nuclear Reactors To Power AWS

Today, it's Amazon, putting on display why our "next AI trade" will generate obnoxious amounts of alpha in the coming years, as they commit to investing more than $500 million to develop small module reactors, according to CNBC.

Amazon Web Services is launching three projects from Virginia to Washington State. AWS has partnered with Dominion Energy to explore building a small modular reactor (SMR) near the North Anna nuclear station in Virginia. SMRs, which produce no carbon emissions, have smaller footprints and faster construction times than traditional reactors.

CNBC writes that Virginia hosts nearly half of the U.S. data centers, with Northern Virginia’s "Data Center Alley" in Loudoun County handling 70% of the world’s internet traffic daily.

Dominion Energy, meanwhile, supplies 3,500 megawatts to 452 data centers across Virginia, with most in Data Center Alley. Typical data centers require 30 megawatts or more, and Dominion is now receiving requests for 60 to 90 megawatts. It expects demand to grow by 85% in the next 15 years. AWS’s new SMRs are projected to add at least 300 megawatts of power to the region.

Mind you, by “government,” I’m not referring to the highly partisan, two-party bureaucracy of the Republicans and Democrats. Rather, I’m referring to “government” with a capital “G,” the entrenched Deep State that is unaffected by elections, unaltered by populist movements, and has set itself beyond the reach of the law.

This is the hidden face of a government that has no respect for the freedoms of its citizenry.

So, stop with all of the excuses and the hedging and the finger-pointing and the pissing contests to see which side can out-shout, out-blame and out-spew the other.

Enough already with the short- and long-term amnesia that allows political sycophants to conveniently forget the duplicity, complicity and mendacity of their own party while casting blame on everyone else.

This is how evil wins.

Canadian crackdown on Israel-linked charities raises concerns in Jewish community

The tax authority’s revocation of charitable status for JNF Canada and others has reverberated inside and outside the country – though the motives behind it are disputed

After Canadian tax authorities revoked the charitable status of the Ne’eman Foundation in August, the organization, which distributes funds to various causes in Israel, began instructing prospective donors to contribute through another recently formed Canadian charity.

Six weeks later, Canadian officials imposed a one-year suspension on that charity, called the Emunim Fund, according to its listing on the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) website.

CRA regulators had previously raised concerns about particular Ne’eman Foundation projects in Israel, and a volunteer with a Jewish pro-Palestinian group had alleged to the agency that the Ne’eman Foundation was using the Emunim Fund to skirt the revocation.

The agency has not publicly disclosed why it suspended the Emunim Fund, and said in a statement that it is barred by law from commenting on individual cases.

“In cases where we detect a risk of non-compliance posing serious harm to charitable assets or beneficiaries, the CRA will work quickly to address the risk,” said the statement, issued in response to a press inquiry. “The CRA takes any allegations of abuse seriously.”

4 Years After The Biden Laptop Coverup, Media Election Interference Is Worse Than Ever

As the life cycle of each media lie shrinks, the disinformation gets even more desperate.

Four years ago this week, the corporate press helped airlift Joe Biden to the White House by blacking out coverage of his international pay-for-play scandal, after the New York Post discovered evidence of the scandal on an abandoned Biden laptop. The press reaction ranged from refusing entirely to cover the story because it was a “waste of time” to only covering it insofar as outlets could cast doubt on its legitimacy. After the election, polling would show that 1 in 6 Biden voters would have changed their vote had they known about some of the stories suppressed by the media, including the Hunter Biden laptop story.

It was the most infamous, though not the only, instance of journalists interfering to swing the 2020 election for the Democrats by stifling inconvenient reporting and propagating nonsense about Donald Trump, Biden’s Republican opponent. (Biden got a very minor taste of the media’s wrath this summer, when the powers that be decided he was no longer an expedient means to Democrat victory, and he didn’t last a month.)

The Biden laptop story blackout followed four entire years in which the media, in tandem with the Clinton campaign and the intelligence apparatus, spread lies about Trump based on the Russia collusion hoax and every other dubiously-sourced rumor they could find.

The good news is, after seeing how cravenly the corporate press carried water for the Clinton campaign’s false narrative about Trump and Russia, America is recognizing and dismissing media hoaxes more quickly these days. And as the life cycle of each media lie shrinks, the dishonesty — dare I say, disinformation? — has been attempted even more rapidly and more desperately.

Just last week, CBS News used deceptive video splicing to replace one of Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ answers on “60 Minutes” with one that sounded less awful. A preview clip of the interview showed Harris responding to a question with nonsensical babble, but when the full interview aired, that answer was nowhere to be seen, having been replaced by a completely different response. The original answer was also missing from the transcript released by the network, and CBS continues to refuse to release an undoctored transcript.
