Thank you for posting this anon. These are people who were really hit hard and if it weren’t for all the small churches up in these remote areas, there would be nothing. FEMA said it would take them a few months to get trailers to these areas. I am beyond livid.

Wrong. These mountain people don’t see themselves as victims. Many have lost their homes and have nothing, and are living in tents on their property. The low temps in this area last night and tonight were/will be in the high 20s. How decent is it is for this church to offer up a little heat, a warm bed, and a hot meal. These are not the type of people to abuse this kindness, instead , they would give you the shirt off their back. And, many are starting to re-build already.

Yes, it’s full of druggy “trustifarians”, totally different from the mountain folks north of Asheville. Curiously, no one has mentioned the homeless who were camped out by the French Broad River when the storm came through. Where did they end up? No one is asking.
