They were betting on a Repub politician to win and began communicating with Americans in preparation of a Repub victory. In March of 2015 that was Jeb. It was said it would be a Bush Clinton election period. The conspiracy doesn't look Trump related so MSM is intentionally misleading the viewers. The conspiracy outlined here was to open a back channel to a Jeb presidency. Later they shifted their plans when he dropped out of the race. The use of he words "back channel" piss me off though. Those words were put in Flynn's mouth early on. This was always going to be twisted and used against Trump when it wasn't about him.
