The CDC reported 49 cases of E. coli contamination in 10 states, with the majority of those cases in Colorado and Nebraska.

According to the CDC, most people who were sick from the contamination reported eating a McDonald’s Quarter Pounder.

As a precautionary measure, McDonald’s in several states has stopped serving quarter-pound beef patties and fresh onions until the source of the illnesses is confirmed.

Investigators are still working to confirm which ingredient in the Quarter Pounder has led to the outbreak.

According to White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, President Joe Biden is “deeply concerned” about the leak.

One of the documents says it was compiled by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), while the other appears to have originated from the National Security Agency (NSA).

The two documents, marked “top secret,” were shared within the Five Eyes intelligence alliance of the United States, Britain, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.

They include the acronym FGI, standing for Foreign Government Intelligence.

They were published on an Iranian-aligned Telegram account called “Middle East Spectator” last week, but Kirby said there was no “indication” that any additional documents will “[find] their way into the public domain.”

New Zealand has recently been the victim of several successful hacks by foreign powers. The Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB), the country’s intelligence agency, recently suffered a $7 million (US$4.7 million) budget cut.

Toronto hospital network reinstates masking requirement

The University Health Network (UHN) is making masks mandatory as respiratory illness season ramps up.

Starting on Oct. 28, visitors to UHN sites will need to wear a mask when receiving or waiting for care.

“This requirement applies to patients, visitors, and staff. You must also still wear a mask in areas where many patients may be at a higher risk of illness,” the hospital network said in a note posted on its website.

Masks will still be optional in common areas such as lobbies and food courts.

UHN includes Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Toronto Rehab, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and other sites.

In September 2023, Trudeau stated on the floor of the Canadian Parliament that there were “credible allegations” that agents of the Indian government were involved in the killing on Canadian soil of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, an individual who was declared a terrorist by the Indian government. Nijjar had an Interpol red notice issued against him, was on the no-fly list in Canada, and had his bank accounts frozen there.

Nijjar had sought Canadian nationality based on a forged passport since 1997. His application was rejected three times, but eventually he obtained it in 2007. His terrorist affiliations can be judged from the fact that he celebrated on video about the killing of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, a former Indian army chief, the former chief minister of Punjab and others. He is believed to have links with Pakistan, where he was photographed carrying an AK-47.

India has remonstrated with Canada time and again about its indifference to New Delhi’s persistent pleas to control these violent extremists on its soil who threaten India’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. These people have held referendums for an independent country carved out of India’s Punjab state. They have issued death threats against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and burnt him in effigy. Ottawa held a ceremony to honour the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack on Parliament Hill on Tuesday as well as a moment of silence in the House of Commons.

The attack left a young reservist dead and happened only days after a warrant officer was killed in Quebec.

Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was shot to death on Oct. 22, 2014 at the age of 24 while guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Parliament Hill. He was a member of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.

He was murdered by Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, a terrorist who also shot at Cpl. Branden Stevenson, who was a long-time close friend who was also guarding the site with Cirillo that morning.

Zehaf-Bibeau injured several others before storming inside Parliament Hill’s Centre Block, firing off dozens of rounds before he was eventually gunned down by Sergeant-at-Arms Kevin Vickers and six other RCMP officers. Continue…

The Liberal government is rolling out a formal Indigenous apology tour at national parks across Canada beginning with the wildfire-ravaged Jasper National Park.

As part of its nationwide initiative to redress what the Liberals call Parks Canada’s history of “colonial policies,” a total of 27 national parks have been flagged for formal place-based apologies.

Jasper National Park was supposed to be the first heritage site to issue such an apology coinciding with the opening of the new Jasper Indigenous Exhibit, an outdoor interpretive display near the Jasper Information Centre on Sept. 7 and 8, 2024.

However, the exhibit’s grand opening event was delayed by the devastating 2024 Jasper wildfire which ravaged 30% of the town, causing $880 million in insurance damage and burning an estimated 32,722 hectares of land.

Although the exhibit was untouched by the fire, Parks Canada had shut down the site until further notice.

Documents obtained by True North via an access to information request show that Parks Canada is preparing “place-based apologies” for each site where its past actions have affected Indigenous peoples.

The documents show that the department under the direction of Environment and Parks Minister Steven Guilbeault remains committed to the apology campaign, with dozens of parks, including Banff National Park, Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, and Cape Breton Highlands National Park, identified as future sites for apologies. Residents are absolutely fed up. At a media conference Tuesday, they begged to be heard by their tone-deaf councillor Ausma Malik and Toronto’s socialist mayor Olivia Chow, who so far have ignored their pleas to have it cleared.

Residents told True North that the squatters in this park — where fires, violent incidents, feces, fights and vandalism are rampant — have been permitted to remain. To make matters worse, under Toronto council’s Homeless Encampment Strategy — which has declared that enforcement is a last resort — the city has sent in a phalanx of social workers and security who hold court out in a shed built for them.

This is yet another example of a city that is deteriorating rapidly under the “leadership” of socialists and progressives.

Canada’s economy saw the most rapid period of job loss in history due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the employment rate falling from 62.3% in 2019 to 58.1% in 2020.

Several MPs, when asked about the fate of their leader and how the caucus meeting went, echoed that they remained united against Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre and signalled that Trudeau had no intention of backing out of the fight.

For example, the Toronto Police Association said that “criminals did not get your message,” highlighting that the communities policed by union members have seen a 45% increase in shootings and a 62% increase in gun-related homicides compared to last year.

“What difference does your handgun ban make when 85% of guns seized by our members can be sourced to the United States?” asked the association. “Your statement is out of touch and offensive to the victims of crime and police officers everywhere. Whatever you think you’ve done to improve community safety, has not worked.”

Edmonton’s police chief previously warned that the handgun ban could increase trafficking.

In a record gun bust, Peel Regional Police reported that 97% of seized firearms were smuggled from the United States.
