Kamala Harris bizarrely blames Donald Trump for her support for sex change surgeries for prisoners

When Kamala Harris was asked about whether she still supports taxpayer-funded transgender sex change surgeries she dodged and bizarrely blamed Donald Trump.

Fox News host Bret Baier inquired about whether she supports the controversial policy during his highly anticipated interview with the candidate Wednesday evening, but Harris demurred.

'Every transgender inmate in the prison system would have access,' Harris is seen saying in a 2019 clipthat has been repurposed by the Trump campaign into an ad attacking the Democrat. Baier asked her if she still holds the same beliefs.

'So are you still in support of using taxpayer dollars to help prison inmates or detained illegal aliens to transition to another gender?' Baier asked. Harris answered without saying what she personally believes: 'I will follow the law.'

Then she launched into an attack against Trump without clarifying her stance. 'It's a law that Donald Trump actually followed,' she promptly followed up.

Harris then spoke about an article on Trump, assuming the audience and the host knew the literature she was referencing. 'You're probably familiar… It's a public report that under Donald Trump's administration these surgeries were available on a medical necessity basis, to people in the federal prison system,' she claimed.

'And I think, frankly, that ad from the Trump campaign is a little bit of like throwing stones when you're living in a glass house,' the Democratic nominee continued. Harris appears to believe that the topic is politically perilous for Trump.

The article she was referencing seems to be a New York Times article claimingTrump-appointed officials in the Bureau of Prisons were in power when gender-affirming care options were allowed for inmates. 'Transgender offenders may require individual counseling and emotional support,' these officials wrote in a 2018 memo to Congress.

'Medical care may include pharmaceutical interventions (eg, cross-gender hormone therapy), hair removal and surgery (if individualized assessment indicates surgical intervention is applicable).'

However what was not mentioned by Harris, though it is included in the NYT piece, is that the first gender-affirming surgery for an inmate did not happen until 2022, well after Trump was out of the White House.

It should be noted, though, that the individual who successfully got a tax-payer funded vaginoplasty in 2022 had been requesting one since at least 2016, according to the ACLU.

'Kamala Harris has forcefully advocated for transgender inmates to be able to get transition surgeries, President Trump never has,'Trump campaign senior adviser Brian Hughes said.

There are an estimated 1,200 transgender inmates in the US federal court system, a court filing cited by the NYT claims. There are close to 160,000 federal inmates total, according to the Bureau of Prisons.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre made an extraordinary gaffe when she was questioned about the now-viral conversation between Joe Biden and Barack Obama at Ethel Kennedy's funeral. During the service for the Kennedy matriarch, Biden and Obama were caught on camera having an intense conversation.

Lip reader Jeremy Freeman deciphered their chat for DailyMail.com, leading to speculation that they were talking about Vice President Kamala Harris' chances of winning the White House. “Biden appeared to say to Obama that, 'she's not as strong as me,' with the former president replying, 'I know…that's true…we have time.'”

'It's been kind of busy the last couple hours on the plane, as you can imagine,' she first answered.

Jean-Pierre appeared alongside National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan who was peppered with questions about Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar being killed by Israel. 'Look, I'll say this, the president really very much appreciated being there at the funeral of Ethel Kennedy who he saw as someone who is incredible and was an incredible force obviously in her life during her years,' Jean-Pierre answered. 'And what he wanted to do was lift up - lift her up and speak to her accomplishment and what she meant to him, not just to him but to her family and to the country,' the press secretary continued. 'So he appreciated doing that.'

It was here she fumbled the response calling Biden the 'former president.' 'And we have said many times, the president and former President Biden they have a very close relationship,' Jean-Pierre noted. Biden has three months and three days left of his term. (Bongino on his show yesterday said, that Obama HATES Joe, and Joe hates Obama. He did a body language analysis on the video and it's obvious.)

The White House transcript shows press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre's gaffe Thursday, when she referred to Biden as the 'former president'. It was clear she meant to say former President Obama.

'They've had one for a long time, obviously, as he served as his vice president,' she added. 'I don't have anything else to share on that,' Jean-Pierre added. 'I have not had this conversation with the president. Obviously we've been pretty busy these last few hours on the plane,' she reiterated.

Obama has openly aired out his concerns about the forthcoming election. Last week in Pittsburgh, Obama voiced his frustration to a group of black men over how the demographic group was more keen to support him, a man, than Harris, who could become the first female president and first female president of color.

'We have not yet seen the same kinds of energy and turnout in all quarters of our neighborhoods and communities as we saw when I was running. Now, I also want to say that that seems to be more pronounced with the brothers,' Obama said.
