Update(1330ET): Prime Minister BenjaminNetanyahu has essentially accused Iran of trying to assassinate him after a drone sent from Hezbollah struck his private residenceoutside of Tel Aviv Saturday morning. "The attempt by Iran’s proxy Hezbollah to assassinate me and my wife today was a grave mistake," he said in an English statement on social media.

"This is the first time since the beginning of the war that a target affiliated directly with Netanyahu has been hit," Axios reported, though details of the extent of damage have been scant. Neither he nor his wife or family had been present at the residence when the attack on the upscale Caesarea neighborhood occurred. Israel's military appeared to be tracking the drone, which traveled some 70km from Lebanon, but anti-air defenses appeared to have failed, with not so much as warning sirens going off.

Leaked US Intelligence Documents Related To Israel's Attack Preparations On Iran Appear Online

A major leak of US classified documents has appeared online Saturday… or we should qualify alleged leaks of at least two TOP SECRET documents, with both marked NOFORN - which is among the highest classifications - given it indicates the specific intelligence cannot be shared with allied foreign intelligence agencies.

A breaking Axios report suggests their authenticity: "U.S. officials are extremely concerned about a potentially major security breach after two alleged U.S. intelligence documents about Israel's preparations for an attack on Iran were published by a Telegram account affiliated with Iran," Barak Ravid, who maintains close Israeli military and intelligence sources, writes.

The documents include one which was reportedly authored by the Department of Defense National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), dubbed a "Visual Intelligence" report and distributed among the US intelligence community (IC) earlier this week, and dated to Oct.14-16.

Neither the Pentagon nor NGA have offered official confirmation or comment, nor are they likely to. The documents first appeared on a pro-Iran Telegram channel. Axios has identified the channel name as "Middle East Spectator".

The docs first appeared online Friday, but the Axios report has strongly pointed to the authenticity of leak.

The region has remained on edge as Israel prepares to retaliate against Iran for its Oct.1st ballistic missile attack which saw some 200 projectiles pummel various sites in central Israel, some of which were said to be Iranian hypersonics. Axios has noted that "The leak could be an attempt to disrupt the Israeli operation."

A US official told Axios that the alleged leak is "extremely concerning" - again implying authenticity. The leak is also being described as potential very serious breach within the US intelligence community.

Mosquito Bite Puts Dad Through Hell After Giving Him Nasty Disease, And Cases Are Rising

A local doctor is offering advice following the death of a Connecticut man five years after he was bitten by an infected mosquito in his backyard.

Richard Pawulski, 49, from Colchester died Monday. Doctors say he died from complications of eastern equine encephalitis, a fatal disease that caused its first New York state death in nearly a decade last month.

The mosquito-borne illness is a rare but "severe" disease that targets the brain, causing rapid physical deterioration and lifelong disabilities if it doesn't kill you first.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says about 30% of EEE cases are deadly.

Doctors say the cause of this surge in cases is a mystery.

There is no preventative vaccine for EEE, so wearing long sleeves and pants, as well as thorough mosquito repellent spray, is imperative.

"Deep-based insect repellants typically 15% to 20% deep will protect people for three to four hours and also being mindful of the fact that dusk is when the most mosquito bites occur so perhaps if you're compromised in some way not being out at dusk," said Dr. Jo-Anne Passalacqua with Hartford Healthcare.

Five years ago, there were four confirmed cases of EEE in Connecticut. Pawulski had been the only survivor until Monday.

At Least 31 Israeli Soldiers Wounded in Hezbollah Drone Strike Near Lebanon Border

Details are still scant, and so far, Israeli media has not published any stories on the matter. The reports coming from elsewhere indicate that at least 31 Israeli soldiers were wounded in this latest incident, which is being described as a “difficult incident.”

This is the second substantial incident of Israeli troop casualties resulting from a Hezbollah drone this week. Previously on Sunday evening, a drone strike hit the Israeli military base in Binyamina, killing four soldiers and wounding over 60 others.

This comes as Israel continues its ground invasion of Lebanon, its ongoing ground invasion of the Gaza Strip, and military operations against both Syria and the occupied West Bank. Tensions have soared throughout the region as a result.

Late Thursday, Hezbollah said that was entering an “escalatory phase” of the war against the Israeli invasion. The organization also noted that it has begun using precision-guided munitions against Israeli troops for the first time in the conflict.

The war with Hezbollah has displaced many Israelis from the north of that country, and an enormous number of Lebanese civilians have been displaced as Israeli airstrikes hit anywhere and everywhere.
