The US military is calling on a new group to serve their country: technology pros. The Defense Department is tapping top tech talent to join the Army and Navy reserves, according to The Wall Street Journal. Senior professionals, such as chief technology officers, would hold high-ranking positions within the reserves while keeping their day jobs. The military would summon them occasionally to assist with short-term cybersecurity and data analytics projects. Tech reservists would complete the same training as the other 700,000 US military reservists, including one weekend a month and two weeks a year. However, they would not be called to serve in battle.
