This Copernicus Sentinel-2 image showcases the rich agricultural landscape of northern Ohio in the mid-western of the United States.

The image highlights the Lake Plains region, which stretches along the southwestern shores of Lake Erie and across the northwestern segment of the state to the Michigan border, partly visible in the top left corner.
Grey and white grid-like patterns across the image denote urban areas, including the major cities of Toledo (to the west) and Cleveland (to the east) along the lake’s shorelines.
Here, Lake Erie marks part of the border between the US and Canada. A few islands can be seen in the lake.
The largest is Pelee Island, which lies in Ontario and is the southernmost populated point in Canada.
Lake Erie is the shallowest and the smallest by volume of the five Great Lakes of North America.
Its milky and blue hues are likely due to high levels of sediment and dispersed matter that find their way into the water.
The lake's water quality is influenced by the agriculture that surrounds the lake.
Ohio is known for its fertile soil, which is naturally rich in phosphates, one of the main ingredients in fertilisers, and therefore is well-suited for farming.
As this image clearly highlights, the Lake Plains region is predominantly agricultural, with expanses of cropland covering much of the landscape.
The state is currently experiencing one of the most severe droughts in decades, significantly impacting both on livestock and crop production.
The different colours of the fields, as seen in this image acquired on 5 October 2024, show clearly the effects of the drought.
Around Toledo, the crops appear mostly in shades of brown, while fields closer to Cleveland look greener, suggesting healthier conditions.
Although the Cleveland metropolitan area sprawls along Lake Erie for about 160 km and runs more than 65 km inland, the city is surrounded by several parks and natural areas, including the Cleveland Metroparks system, which encircles the city and is known as the Emerald Necklace.
This network of parks creates a green belt around the city, contributing to its reputation for natural spaces despite being a major urban centre.

Blue Origin Completes 27th Mission; Debuts New Human-Rated Vehicle

Today, Blue Origin’s 27th mission debuted the second human-rated vehicle for the New Shepard program, enabling expanded flight capacity to better meet growing customer demand.
“We look forward to welcoming crew onboard RSS Kármán Line soon and offering the New Shepard flight experience to people across the world from all backgrounds,” said Phil Joyce, SVP, New Shepard.
“On every New Shepard mission, we’ve witnessed people return to Earth changed by this experience, and with a renewed sense of commitment to preserve our planet.”
The flight carried five payloads on the booster and seven inside the crew capsule, including tens of thousands of postcards flying as part of Club for the Future’s Postcards to Space program.

SpaceX Crew-8 Returns To Earth

After 235 days in space, Dragon and Crew-8 NASA astronauts Matthew Dominick and Michael Barratt, Jeanette Epps, and Rocosmos cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin returned to Earth and splashed down off the coast of Florida at 3:29 a.m. ET on Friday, October 25.
Falcon 9 launched Dragon and Crew-8 to the orbiting laboratory on Sunday, March 3 at 10:53 p.m. ET from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Royal aliens: Ufologist urges King to address British public on UFOs

King Charles has been urged to address the nation to "put fears at rest" if evidence confirming life beyond Earth is published, according to leading UFOlogist Mark Christopher Lee from St Albans.
As the world waits with bated breath, scientists from the Breakthrough Listen project, funded by Mark Zuckerberg, are reportedly on the verge of a monumental discovery.
Evidence of intelligent transmissions from within our galaxy has been detected, according to Professor Simon Holland, with experts from Oxford currently verifying the data before an official announcement is made.
This potential breakthrough could mark the first confirmed contact with extraterrestrial life, an event that could reshape humanity’s understanding of the universe. Filmmaker and UFO researcher Mark Christopher Lee believes this moment is imminent. "We are literally weeks away from the biggest discovery ever," said Lee, emphasizing the profound global impact such a revelation would have.
Lee, whose latest film The King of UFOs explores the potential role of King Charles in the event of first contact, argues that the monarch may be called upon to address the nation.
"If we have evidence of an advanced civilisation, we are no longer alone.
The King, as a unifying figure and head of the Anglican Church, would have a crucial role in helping guide us through the spiritual and philosophical challenges this will pose," Lee stated.
Lee has also consulted with Seth Shostak, the chief astronomer at SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence), who has spent over 40 years searching for signs of life beyond Earth.
In Lee's documentary God Versus Aliens, Shostak draws comparisons to historical encounters between civilisations.
"It will be like Columbus discovering the new world," he said. "An intelligent, more advanced civilisation might bring its own beliefs or challenge our existing ones. We have to be prepared for any outcome."
Reports of unidentified drones in restricted airspace over NASA’s Langley base have further fueled speculation, with some suggesting a link to extraterrestrial activity.
As anticipation grows, Lee calls for leadership on both national and global levels, urging figures like King Charles and UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to take an active role in preparing the public for this unprecedented moment.
The world now waits to see how its leaders will respond as the possibility of contact with an alien civilisation edges closer to reality.

Experts studying 'alien mummies' from Peru make startling find while dissecting their bodies

Dissection has begun on hands from one of Peru's hotly debated 'alien mummies' — seen in an eerie new video revealing bones and odd metallic structures.
Worldwide controversy has followed these now roughly dozen or so small peculiar specimens, often referred to as the 'Nazca Tridactyls' after the region in Peru where they are believed to have been taken by anonymous local 'huaqueros' (tomb raiders).
Now, doctors claimed to have removed a 'light metal' implant from the new specimen's palm, a reporter who is working with medical professionals involved in the investigation told DailyMail.com.
The short video documents the moment one physician carefully pulls the suspected 'alien implant' from the Nazca Tridactyl's severed, three-fingered hand with tweezers.
Mexican Navy forensic doctor Dr Jose Zalce Benitez — who devoted his free time to remove the metal — said: 'It is a very complex metal alloy that requires special knowledge and techniques to be able to achieve it with such quality and purity.'
'It was possible to identify elements such as aluminum, tin, silver, copper, cadmium and osmium among others in smaller quantities and percentages,' Dr Zalce added.
The video also depicts what appears to be one of the mummified hands peeled back to reveal two of its 'metacarpal' or 'palm' bones.
'This tridactyl hand, from which I obtained the metal, does not belong to any of the bodies presented at the Mexican Congress,' Dr Zalce emphasized.
'This hand is part of a series of loose pieces that belong to the place where the tridactyl bodies of Peru were found,' the physician and forensic expert clarified.
The doctor's volunteer investigation into these unusual, potentially extraterrestrial bodies dates back to his testimony before an open hearing of Mexico's Congress last year, during which two similar alleged 'alien' corpses were presented.
Since that September 12, 2023 congressional presentation, two distinct sizes of these alleged 'alien mummies' have been subjected to public scrutiny — but the new video examination relates to the smaller and more controversial of the specimens.
The alleged 'metal implant' can be see looking like a torn patch of silvery reptilian scales in the new video, as it is tilted toward the camera by Dr Zalce's gloved hand.
Reporter Fernando Correa Dominguez explained to DailyMail.com that the hand had been carefully rehydrated by the doctors to better remove the 'metal implant.'
Initially, Correa noted, 'they did not see any moisture inside the hand, [only] dehydrated skin tissue was observed inside the tendons and muscles.'
Dr Zalce described the procedure in more detail: 'We used a forensic technique to protect the tissue and minimize its degradation […] a special serum that is used for the rehydration of corpses that has very specific concentration percentages.'
'We use sterile swabs with a soft surgical cotton tip to avoid any type of damage or contamination to both the metal sample and the tridactyl hand,' Dr Zalce elaborated.
'This technique is used by the FBI and helps recover data or information from relevant evidence in forensic investigations,' the physician noted.
Correa, who took credit for bringing Dr Zalce onto this project, added that the severed 'tridactyl' hand closely resembles the hands present on the specimens brought before Mexican Congress last year.
That spectacle within the nation's highest legislative body had been spearheaded by UFO researcher and broadcaster Jaime Maussan, Correa's boss for over two decades at the paranormal-focused TV news magazine 'Tercer Milenio.'
'It is a hand from small bodies,' Correa told DailyMail.com, 'such as the mummies of Josephina, Victoria and Louise' as the mummies have been nicknamed by the team.
These purported beings — typically just under two feet (60.96 centimeters) long — have originated from sites in Peru along with larger, more human-sized specimens, similarly coated in white, powdery algae fossils known as diatomaceous earth.
Critics, including top Peruvian officials from the Ministry of Culture, have claimed the smaller bodies are grim fabrications, based on two specimens seized by customs.
Dr Flavio Estrada, a forensic archaeologist with Peru's Institute for Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, concluded the seized bodies were grisly dolls, 'assembled with bones of animals from this planet, with modern synthetic glues.'
'They're not extraterrestrials,' Dr Estrada pronounced after his group's examination last January. 'It's totally a made-up story.'

But Colorado attorney Josh McDowell has told DailyMail.com that these two alleged mummies, which were confiscated by Peruvian customs from courier DHL at an airport in Lima, only superficially resemble those brought before Mexico's congress.
These contraband specimens, he said, also did not resemble those kept at the University of Ica in Peru, where many of the Nazca Tridactyls are currently stored.
McDowell said that the seized 'mummies,' dressed-up in miniature imitations of traditional Andean dress, had merely been bootlegs made by an artist who intended to cash-in on the 'Nazca mummy' craze.
'The artist that made them said as much,' he continued.
'There is a way to obtain definitive answers as to what these specimens are through genetic testing and additional forensic examination,' McDowell emphasized.
'It would mean a true collaborative effort with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, working with the Peruvian Ministry of Culture, to complete the studies legally, ethically and with respect to the cultural heritage of Peru.'
'Both agreed on the inside of the hand,' Correa said.
'There is anatomical correspondence with this member that comes from the same place where the other specimens were found: a cave in the Peruvian desert,' he said.
But even some sympathetic observers and amateur 'ancient alien' archeologists online have voiced their doubts about the hand as depicted in the new video.
Posters on the Reddit forum r/alienbodies likened the interior seen in the new alien hand video to 'wet sludge and bones' or hastily stuffed 'with ground coffee beans.'
'The more I learn about these,' one opined, 'the less authentic I believe them to be.'
For his part, Dr Rangel, whose past research work has focused on a form of gene called Human leukocyte antigens (HLA), has focused the most of his studies on DNA samples taken from the Nazca mummies over the past few years.
In one of his 2023 assessments of the specimens, he asserted that 'there is a probability greater than 50 percent that this organism is not related to living beings known to date on our planet.'

Alien signal 'could contain terrible truth' as fears rise over 'imminent' announcement

Ever since the bombshell exposé about the US Government’s UFO research program in 2017, the subject of extraterrestrial visitors has moved steadily from the conspiracy world into the mainstream.
In recent years we have seen military experts testify under oath to the US Congress that the Pentagon conducted a “multi-decade” program which collected, and attempted to reverse-engineer, crashed alien craft.
But still, the official government “disclosure” of contact with aliens – whether it’s in the form of landings from interstellar craft or the recently-reported “non-human technological signature” allegedly detected by an Australian radio telescope – seems as far away as ever.
And one leading expert in the field of UFO research has deeply worrying theory on why that might be.
Nick Pope, once responsible for the Ministry of Defence's analysis of UFO reports, offered his disturbing explanation to Simon Holland in a leaked email.
Simon made headlines around the world earlier this month when he claimed evidence of alien life has been found by an Oxford-backed satellite programme.
He even claimed it could be announced to coincide with the US election on November 5.
But in the email – which surfaced on Reddit and has been confirmed to the Mirror as being genuine – Nick suggests that any potential message detected by the extraterrestrial research group should be very carefully analysed before being released to the public “in case it contains a truth too terrible to be told”.
Speculating on why disclosure has been so long-delayed, with Nick writing: “I don’t believe that the US presidential election, or the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East or Ukraine have a bearing on the timescale.
One factor that might have a bearing on timing relates to a scenario where the assessment is that we’re looking at not just a signal, but a message.
Some of these potential truths he exclusively told the Mirror, include the possibility that humanity is simply “a science experiment” for some advanced civilisation, or that “aliens are demonic”.
Professor Simon Holland described Nick Pope’s speculation as “deeply disturbing,” and several commentators have put forward the idea that mankind, as a whole, might suffer some sort of collective breakdown as a result of the “ontological shock” of encountering a truly alien civilisation.
Pope has previously commented that humanity, as a whole, might not be psychologically ready to cope with confirmation that non-human intelligence is real. He claimed:
"I believed people were ready for Disclosure. The response to Covid made me rethink this. I overestimated societal resilience, and underestimated the panic generated by something unfamiliar and threatening.”
Another theory that he has floated in the past is that our reality is little more than an advanced video-game being played by beings so far advanced from us that they may as well be gods.
“Often in cosmology, there seems to be a disconnect between theory and observation,” he said.
“In religious terms, it would be as if several different gods all had a hand in creating the universe, and all had their different styles.”
