This flight ended back at Tinker AFB a little over an hour ago. USAF B1-B Lancer 86-0103 goes supersonic, while turning at lower altitude, over west Texas. Thinking that, if not the good people of the town of Spur, then certainly anyone on the ground in the vicinity got a blast from a pretty forceful sonic boom. Some quick and dirty calculations show that 906 knots equals 1,042 mph. Or roughly an altitude compensated speed of Mach 1.4.

Speed: 900-plus mph (Mach 1.2 at sea level)

Looks like maybe the USAF is sand bagging a little with the stated performance numbers. Couldn't imagine why. kek

Reviewed flight history for today and found plenty of air tanker activity over the Med. But no F-16s seen with them. Fighters would likely not be seen anyway. Which leaves me asking why Intel Slava is posting unsubstantiated claims about the flights. His screen caps don't show any fighters, and I don't see any either. Posting is sus.
