š§µš§µš§µI went to Clayton County, GA - where 70% of voters are black - to hear their thoughts on Donald Trump.
I now believe the polls showing him winning record support among black voters.
āIf you wanna start your own business, Trump is the man for you. If you wanna live off the government, that would be Kamala.ā
āThe countryās been run horribly the last four years. When Trump was in office things were a lot betterā¦Kamalaās consistently flip flopping on policies.ā
āI feel like Kamalaās a puppet for the Democratic Partyā¦Trumpās views on protecting the border are on point.ā
āWhen trump was in power he was doing a much better jobā¦People are losing their jobs for other people that are coming in the country.ā
āTrump gives me answers to questionsā¦When they ask Harris āAre Americans better off than they were four years ago?ā I donāt hear an answer.ā
Iāve talked to thousands of voters the last 8 years. In the past, most folks not voting for Trump completely despised him.
What surprised me was how many Harris supporters still had good things to say about him.
āHe actually has some views that I kinda like. I donāt like the transgender things thatās going on, with the men competing in womenās sportsā¦So, I kinda like him, but I donāt.ā
āTrump has some good pointsā¦He could run America real good as a business honestly. And heās unapologetically him. You canāt help but respect that.ā
For decades, Republicans have only won 5-10 percent of the black vote every presidential election.
Polling this year shows Donald Trump with 17-25 percent support.
If he gets anywhere near that number, itās difficult to envision a scenario in which Harris wins states like Georgia or North Carolina.
I still found plenty of Harris voters in Clayton County and the surrounding area.
Abortion and racism were the top two reasons they gave for supporting her.
Call it anecdotal, but I spoke to black voters all day and found a 50-50 Harris/Trump split.
This was in a county with the highest percentage of black residents in the state. It went for Biden 85-15 last election.
Is there a chance Harris still wins 90% of the black vote? Sure.
But based on my experience in Atlanta, I would be shocked if Trump doesnāt bring in record numbers of black voters.
