Depraved youth jail where female teachers have sex with underage inmates

Nine female teachers had sex with boys at a troubled jail for young offenders, with many of their victims underage.

The Cité-des-Prairies Youth Rehabilitation Centre in Montreal, Canada, has launched a huge probe over the disgusting allegations, which came to light in August. Nine educators at the center had sexual relations with inmates, CBC reported. Two female teachers got pregnant by boys at the center, with one of the boys they abused just 15 years-old, La Presse reported.

Canada's age of consent is 16, with the scandal causing such revulsion that Quebec's head of youth protection Catherine Lemay has been forced to quit.

The woman who abused the 15 year-old did not deny sex with the child but defended herself by saying there had been 'no penetration.' Another woman was surprised by a colleague while kissing a boy, with a fourth teacher whose gender was not disclosed caught in a dark bathroom with a teenager.

All those accused of sexually-abusing inmates have been suspended or fired, but no criminal charges have been brought. None of those accused have been named.

The rampant sexual misconduct is said to have taken place over a year at the Cite-des-Prairies Rehabilitation, a center that houses depraved youth that have committed crimes including, murder, drug sales pimping and possession of firearms.

Cite-des-Prairies is no stranger to scandal. In 2007, two teachers in their 20s got pregnant by two street gang members being held there. A third woman was arrested mid-sex act with a boy after she was seen 'leaning over a young man with an erection,' La Presse reported.

'It's a serious situation,' says Assunta Gallo, director of youth protection at the CIUSSS du Centre-Sud-de-l'Île-de-Montréal. She reported the sex acts to authorities as soon as she heard about them and is now helping to investigate. An intervention officer was also fired for allegedly bringing items into the center including, drugs, cell phones, and e-cigarettes.
