Putin launches nuclear exercise

The drills involve ballistic and cruise missile launches, according to the Russian president

The nuclear triad remains a reliable guarantor of Russia’s security and sovereignty, Putin stressed, adding that it also helps maintain “nuclear parity and the balance of power in the world.”

“Given the growth of geopolitical tensions as well as the emergence of new external threats and risks, it is important to have modern strategic forces that are constantly ready for combat use,” the president said. Moscow plans to further improve all the “components” of its nuclear triad, he noted.

Russia seeks to maintain its nuclear forces at the “necessarily sufficient” level, but it does not intend to be dragged into a new arms race, Putin said.

“Russia reaffirms its principled stance that the use of nuclear weapons is an extreme, exceptional measure to ensure state security,” the president stated.

Moscow’s strategic forces are outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment by 94%, according to Putin. Troops will also receive new stationary and mobile missile systems that have higher precision and shorter launch preparation time compared to previous generations, he added.

The new systems will also have higher anti-missile defense penetration capabilities, the president stated. The Russian Navy is set to be supplied with new atomic submarines and modernized strategic bombers, according to the president.

On October 14, NATO launched its own large-scale nuclear drills. Thirteen member states of the US-led bloc participated in the annual ‘Steadfast Noon’ exercise, which involved around 2,000 military personnel and over 60 aircraft. European NATO members were training to deploy US-provided weapons under the organization’s nuclear sharing arrangement.

The Kremlin said at the time that the drills would only increase tensions between Russia and the West amid the Ukraine conflict.

Moscow has also stated that the NATO nuclear sharing system is against the spirit of nuclear non-proliferation.

Last month, Putin also suggested updates to Russia’s nuclear doctrine. Under the changes, an act of aggression against Russia and its closest ally Belarus by any non-nuclear state – including Ukraine – “with the participation or support of a nuclear state” would be considered a “joint attack” that could trigger a nuclear response.

York County, Pennsylvania Election Officials Are Examining Thousands of Suspect Voter Registrations and Ballot Applications from Third-Party Group

York County, Pennsylvania, recently received a substantial delivery of voter registration forms and mail-in ballot applications from Field+Media Corps, a third-party group working on behalf of the Everybody Votes Campaign.

Field+Media Corps, an Arizona-based consulting firm, has been actively engaging communities of color in Arizona, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and California since 2017.

This recent influx of election-related materials from such an organization has prompted York County to take a meticulous approach to validate the legality of these submissions.

Julie Wheeler, York County’s President Commissioner, has assured the public that election officials are diligently processing these submissions to confirm their legality and accuracy.

“It’s not unusual to get large stacks of voter registrations or large stacks of request for mail-in ballots. It’s just this was an overabundance of registrations from one particular organization,” Julie Wheeler told Fox43.

“We’re in a phase now where we need to do our homework before we go and make accusations when we don’t have the data to back it up,” Wheeler said.

Today's attempt to kill Trump and start WW3

State Department Alerts Congress: Iranian Spy Teams Are Attempting To Assassinate Former Trump Officials

Washington Free Beacon reports:

The notification, which the State Department transmitted to congressional leaders last week, reveals that Pompeo and former U.S. Iran envoy Brian Hook continue to face "serious and credible" threats from a foreign nation, reported to be Iran.

The findings come on the eve of a contested presidential election in which Iran's plots to assassinate former president Donald Trump have taken center stage in recent weeks. Trump was briefed late last month about real and specific threats from Iran to assassinate him in an effort to destabilize and sow chaos in the United States, according to his campaign.

Why Nobody Believes The "Data": Surging Prices Of Everyday Items Are Excluded From CPI

For starters, CPI excludes several significant costs faced by households today - ranging from property taxes to soaring interest payments.

While price levels remain notably higher than before the pandemic, according to the CPI, inflation has slowed - reaching a 2.4% increase for the year ending in September. That's only part of the picture, Bloomberg reports.

"The CPI is capturing the goods and services that you purchased for consumption, but there are things that affect your cost of living that are outside of that," explains Steve Reed, a BLS economist. For instance, interest charges on rising consumer debt are largely absent from the CPI. Roughly $628 billion in revolving credit card debt now bears an average interest rate of about 22%, yet these costs aren’t reflected in consumer inflation data.

Russia Is Experiencing Its "Fastest Economic Growth In The Last Decade"

Russia's economy is booming, partly thanks to the sanctions meant to destroy Putin's war machine

In the wake of many Western companies leaving the country or suspending their operations due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, they were quickly replaced by Russian versions. So, instead of Starbucks, they have Stars Coffee, instead of Zara, they have Maag, and instead of Coca-Cola, Dobry Cola. Back in April, Doby reported that its 2023 earnings were quadruple the profits made in 2022.

Connolly says that sanctions have proven ineffective, essentially resulting in sanctions evasion becoming a sector in and of itself. This means that banned Western goods are still entering the country, with Russians able to purchase most of the products they were able to buy before the war. This includes cars such as Mercedes and Chrysler, which end up in Russia via third countries such as Georgia, Kazakhstan and China. Their price is higher because of the tortuous import route, but wealthy Russians can afford them.

“Many Russian small businesses have an incentive to buy goods on foreign markets, bring them back to Russia and sell them at very good margins,” Connolly says.

The expert notes that before the war, Russian investment in the economy was poor, but now Russia is experiencing its “fastest economic growth in the last decade.”
