Wrong, Mercy requires some type of self sacrifice
If you feed your neighbor your portion, then you self sacrificed some of your welfare. If a little, it is a little self sacrifice, if it is the last meal that you had to live on then it was pure self sacrifice. Twist all you want, it is not easy by any stretch of the imagination.
