Harris Campaign Appears to Be Surrendering North Carolina

https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/kamala-harris-donald-trump-north-carolina/2024/10/29/id/1185918/

With just a week to go before Election Day, Democrat Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign is pulling millions of dollars of advertising from major North Carolina markets, the Carolina Journal reported Tuesday.

In a post Tuesday morning on X, ad tracking firm AdImpact reported Harris' campaign reserved $2.7 million Monday for a barrage on ads in the state in the week leading up to Election Day on Nov. 5. But on Tuesday morning, the campaign canceled $2 million worth of those ad reservations.

The move was announced a day before Harris' scheduled rally Wednesday in the state capital of Raleigh, the only media market in North Carolina where she is leading her Republican rival, former President Donald Trump, who also is holding a rally Wednesday in North Carolina in Rocky Mount.

In the Journal's latest statewide poll, Harris and Trump are tied with 47% each but Trump leads from Charlotte to western North Carolina by 12 percentage points and by 9 points in North Carolina's coastal area. They are tied in central North Carolina at 45% each and Harris leads in the Triangle area of Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill by a 55%-40% margin.

North Carolina, the only battleground state Trump won in 2020, is almost two weeks into early voting, and registered Republican voters are significantly outpacing Democrats. More than 3 million votes have been cast in the election, the Journal reported, and in comparing turnout to this point in 2020, Dr. Andy Jackson of the Civitas Center for Public Integrity at the John Locke Foundation in Raleigh, posted on X that Democrats' turnout is down by more than 340,000 voters and Republican turnout is up by 9,000 voters.

Democrats also have been hurt by lower turnout in key voting blocs: Black and young voters, according to the Journal. The early vote totals for Black voters have dropped by more than 40,000 from 2020, according to Dr. Michael Bitzer, chair of political science and director of the Center for North Carolina Politics and Public Service and Catawba College. In 2020, 92% of Black voters cast their ballots for Joe Biden, according to the Pew Research Center.

Plus, the Journal reported that more voters in the state aged 18-25 have voted Republican than Democrat, beating their turnout levels from 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Younger Republicans are up by 1,600 votes, closely in line with 2020 turnout, the Journal reported, but young Democrats are down by 37,000 votes, placing the groups neck-and-neck in early voting turnout.

Alright, which one of you frogs has been spouting war rumors? KEK!

Feds see uptick in online chatter among extremists preparing for ‘civil war’

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/10/25/domestic-extremism-civil-war-report-00185610

U.S. intelligence authorities are seeing a rise in online discussions among domestic extremists about preparations for what they imagine to be an imminent civil war, according to a Department of Homeland Security report.

The discussions — which largely take place in anonymous, unmoderated online forums — are linked to the 2024 election and concerns about immigration.

“Some domestic violent extremists (DVEs) are reacting to the 2024 election season and prominent policy issues by engaging in illegal preparatory or violent activity that they link to the narrative of an impending civil war, raising the risk of violence against government targets and ideological opponents,” the report from the DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis says.

The report, dated Sept. 6, 2024, reflects widely held concerns that violence could mar the election. It was obtained through a public records request by Property of the People, a pro-transparency nonprofit, and was first reported by Wired. DHS regularly circulates intelligence reports like this one to state and local law enforcement agencies.

After President Joe Biden won the election four years ago, a mob of former President Donald Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in an effort to derail the transfer of power. And in the years since, many public officials and election workers have faced sustained harassment and threats.

At least five people who promoted the idea of imminent civil war this year now face criminal charges, according to the report. Four are accused of making violent threats or preparing for violence. The fifth is charged with murdering and beheading his father, a retired federal employee, to try to “save America from traitors” in a purported war between the government and the citizens.

The DHS report said that “perceptions of election fraud” could trigger violence, as could fears of mass migration and crimes committed by non-U.S. citizens. One internet user said a hypothetical executive order granting citizenship to migrants would justify murder, according to the report.

“Biden does that executive order, we shoot all democrat officials,” the user wrote. “And the supporting federal agents.”

While warning of the potential for violence, the report said large-scale action by extremists is unlikely because of law enforcement infiltration of online groups and the convictions of prominent organizers of the Jan. 6 attack.

But the document also says extremists are increasingly using encrypted channels to limit the feds’ visibility into their communications.

A DHS spokesperson said the department urges state and local law enforcement to “to remain vigilant” to possible threats.

DHS is far from alone in warning about election-season violence. Law enforcement agencies around the country have been scrambling to develop polling-site safety plans with local election administrators. And the Justice Department has put in place a task force to prosecute people who threaten election workers.

What would/will be awesome is, having arresting authorities, military or police, in position first, then announce the crimes, and have the arresting authorities GO,GO,GO at same the time.

That would wake folks up.

Trump: Washington, Vote Out Rep. Newhouse

https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/washington-donald-trump-vote/2024/10/29/id/1185916/

Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday called on his Washington supporters to vote out Republican Rep. Dan Newhouse, one of the ten House Republicans who voted to impeach him for Jan. 6, according to The Hill.

Trump began with a post on Truth Social, praising Newhouse's opponent Jerrod Sessler, who he said would "be a GREAT Congressman for Washington State's 4th Congressional District. A Navy Veteran, Entrepreneur, Loving Father and Husband, Jerrod will fight hard every day to Secure the Border, Stand for the Rule of Law, Strengthen our Military, Take Care of our Vets, Defend our Nation, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment."

After praising Newhouse's opponent, Trump then called on Washingtonians to vote out Newhouse: Sessler "is running against a Weak and Pathetic RINO named Newhouse, who voted to, for no reason, Impeach me. Newhouse has to go!"

Newhouse is one of two remaining House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump after the Capitol attack. The other is California Rep. David Valadao.

Report: Tech Leaders Court Trump, Anticipate Victory

https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/donald-trump-jeff-bezos-mark-zuckerberg/2024/10/29/id/1185897/

Top tech executives have contacted former President Donald Trump, possibly anticipating a second term, as his chances of winning the election strengthen, The Hill reported.

CEOs from Apple, Google, and Amazon have contacted Trump in recent weeks, signaling strategic recalibration as Trump's odds of reclaiming the presidency improve.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai was among those who made contact, phoning Trump after a recent campaign event at which Trump worked a shift at a McDonald's drive-thru.

At a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump shared details of the call, describing Pichai as "a great guy, very smart." Trump added that Pichai had expressed enthusiasm about Trump's recent McDonald's appearance.

Apple CEO Tim Cook also contacted Trump this month amid concerns about the European Union's recent ruling requiring Apple to pay nearly $15 billion in back taxes.

During an appearance on the Patrick Bet-David podcast, Trump praised Cook, calling him "amazing" and suggesting Apple would not be as successful without his leadership. Trump's favorable comments marked a shift in tone, given his previous criticisms of Big Tech leaders during his first term.

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy also reportedly contacted Trump, while representatives from Blue Origin, Jeff Bezos's aerospace company, met with Trump last week. That same day, Bezos's Washington Post declared it would not endorse any presidential candidate in the 2024 election, reversing its longstanding editorial policy.

In an op-ed, Bezos downplayed the event, saying that he was unaware of the Blue Origin meeting and emphasized that there was no connection between the decision and the meeting.

The outreach from tech giants comes as polls show that Trump is slightly favored to win against Vice President Kamala Harris. The Hill-Decision Desk HQ forecast recently shifted, showing Trump's odds topping 50% for the first time since Harris entered the race. According to polling data, Trump trails Harris by just 0.5%.

Political analysts view the tech industry's outreach as pragmatic. Owen Tedford, a senior research analyst at Beacon Policy Advisors, suggested that tech companies might seek to position themselves advantageously should Trump return to office.

Tedford also speculated that these firms might hope for relaxed antitrust scrutiny under a potential second Trump administration, noting that President Joe Biden's Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission have aggressively pursued antitrust cases against Amazon, Apple, and Google.

Tech's apparent alignment with Trump contrasts with earlier contentious relations.

During his first term, Trump publicly criticized Bezos and clashed with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Trump Ally Bannon 'Far From Broken' After Prison Release

https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/bannon/2024/10/29/id/1185887/

Steve Bannon, a long-time ally of former President Donald Trump, was released on Tuesday from prison, where he had been serving a four-month sentence for contempt of Congress.

Bannon, 70, was released one week before the U.S. presidential election pitting Trump, a Republican, against Vice President Kamala Harris, a Democrat.

His release from a low-security facility in Danbury, Connecticut, frees Bannon to resume his role as one of the former president's most prominent cheerleaders, and most aggressive critics of Trump's opponents.

"I'm finally out of being a political prisoner by the Merrick Garland, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi regime," Bannon said at a news conference, referring to the U.S. attorney general and former House of Representatives speaker, as well as to Harris.

"I am far from broken," Bannon added. "I have been empowered by my four months at Danbury federal prison." He has resumed hosting his "War Room" podcast.

Bannon was a key adviser to Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, and was Trump's chief White House strategist in 2017 before a falling-out that they later patched up.

==He said they spoke on Tuesday morning, but did not provide details.

Bannon was convicted in 2022 on two misdemeanor counts for defying a subpoena from the U.S. House of Representatives committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

House investigators had sought information from Bannon following his prediction the day before the attack that "all hell is going to break loose tomorrow."==

Bannon remained free during his appeal, arguing that he had no intent to commit a crime because his lawyer had told him that he need not comply with the subpoena.

In May, a federal appeals court in Washington upheld Bannon's conviction, saying that ignoring subpoenas could "hamstring" Congress' power to investigate by making it harder to prosecute witnesses who spurn congressional investigations.

Bannon viewed the Democratic-led committee's probe as politically motivated.

Peter Navarro, a former Trump trade adviser, also served a four-month prison sentence for defying a subpoena from the same committee.

Bannon still faces criminal fraud charges from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for allegedly deceiving donors who contributed more than $15 million to a private fundraising drive for Trump's signature wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

He has pleaded not guilty.
