Salem’s witches will honor Stormy Daniels on Halloween during their annual “magic circle” ceremony, according to The Boston Globe.
Daniels, the adult film actress who alleges she had an affair with former President Donald Trump, has been a practicing witch since she was kid, she told the newspaper.
“I can’t find the words to explain emotionally how big this is to me,” Daniels told the Globe.
Daniels will be honored at 5 p.m. Thursday on Salem Common with the first annual Salem Witches’ Woman of Power award.
Salem witches Christian Day, Brian Cain, and Lorelei Stathopoulos — all owners of witch shops in Salem — teased the surprise in a video posted to Facebook, without naming who would be the recipient of the new award.
“She is a very important symbol in our troubled times right now for female empowerment,” Cain said.
The organizers told the Globe that Daniels was selected because they believe she’s been the victim of a modern-day witch hunt. Trump was convicted of a felony in May for falsifying business records in an attempt to hide hush-money payments to Daniels, whose address was posted online after Trump was indicted in the case.
“No one understands what the last six years have been like for me,” Daniels told the Globe. “Everyone else gets to turn off the TV and forget about politics, which has reached this next-level, dark insanity. I don’t get that opportunity. I’m living in an RV because I can’t go home. The persecution those witches felt hundreds of years ago feels very familiar to me.”
Daniels told the newspaper she’s always been a “solo practitioner” of witchcraft, so she’s excited to join Thursday’s circle.
