Fraudulent mail ballot request forms found in Monroe County, DA says, PA

October 30, 2024 at 1:38 PM EDT

Several mail ballot request forms in Monroe County were found to be fraudulent, according to officials.

District Attorney Mike Mancuso said in a social media post Tuesday thatthe forms were not authorized by the people named as applicants.

In at least one example, thenamed applicant was dead, according to the DA.

Mancuso said several of the request forms were traced to a specific person. He identified a company working out of Lancaster County, called “Field+Media Corps,” a subsidiary of Arizona-based Fieldcorps, as responsible for submitting the forms in question.

The company is a consulting firm that specializes in strategic field, media and compliance work for clients, according to its website. It helps with voter registration campaigns, door-to-door programs, ballot measures, phone banking and text campaigns, the website states.

Field+Media Corps has also been linked to voter registration forms and mail-in ballot applications that are being looked at by York County officials, according to a report by Harrisburg TV station FOX43.

In neighboring Lancaster County, officials said they are investigating 2,500 suspicious voter registration applications that were dropped off before the Oct. 21 deadline.Officials said the applications were linked to a “large-scale canvassing operation,” but did not identify the organization behind it.

Former President Donald Trump called out both counties on a post on Truth Social, calling it “really bad ‘stuff.'”

Investigators in Monroe County found the fraudulent forms whenthe county’s election board conducted a review and identified about 30 irregular forms. The matter was then handed to the DA’s office.

The DA said the investigation continues into Field+Media Corps’ involvement. His office, along with the state attorney general’s office, are in contact with each other in the investigation. Mancuso said Tuesday he expects an update over the next few days.

Field+Media Corps said Wednesday it tried to reach out to York County officials, and will reach out to officials in Monroe County. The company said it has only heard the recent reports through articles. It released a statement Wednesday morning:

“We are proud of our work to help expand access to voting through our nonpartisan voter registration program. We have not been contacted by election officials in PA counties and we have no additional information on the alleged problematic registration forms,” the statement reads. “We would hope that if Field+Media Corps were the subject of any active investigation, that we would be proactively contacted by the appropriate officials. If we are contacted, we will work with local officials to help resolve any discrepancies to allow eligible people to vote.”
