Yes! I agree that I lacked critical thought, and I also agree that I formed my opinions though my idea of what it means to be an American!
"What does it mean to be Chinese"? I think it depends on social status! If one is "privileged" and comfortable in Chinese society…it would mean loyalty to the State!?
"Who get approval to come.."? Given our current system, I'd assume you're speaking of Chinese authority! Therefore, those who get to come, are those that have proven their loyalty!
"What is Chinese society like"? Its a Totalitarian regime! You obey or die!?
"…why might a Chinese person approved…"? Because the lives of their extended families depend on it!?
Lastly, please consider the reality that you are dealing with individuals and the impact their environment and circumstances has on them!
As for needing to be "spoon fed"…well, perhaps sometimes or often times, the investment is well worth it! You probably presumed I am being lazy and admonished me with an insult…which is understandable, but not necessarily right!
The time you took to spoon feed me a couple of bites, set me "on track" and opened the possibility of greater understanding…and I AM grateful!
Pointing people in the right direction is a good work…please try to avoid being so hard on your brothers and sisters in this cause!
