Kids going into medical school are taught many things. bottom line is they have to learn how to diagnose a problem then know how to treat it. Nine out of ten times, the treatment is a prescription drug. That is Western Medicine. But these kids in medical school are never taught about alternative ways to treat a disease or even if the disease itself really needs to be treated. In the early 1980's, there was a big push to treat high cholesterol because it supposedly caused arteries to be clogged with plaque which led to heart attacks. There were many scientific studies that showed if you lowered cholesterol you would reduce your risk of death from heart disease. So millions of people were prescribed Mevacor, Zocor, Lipitor, and other cholesterol lowering medications. There were many side effects with these drugs…muscle pain, muscle deterioration, liver degradation, and others. And after 20-30 years of using these medications, the end result was no real reduction in overall mortality. Patients may not have died from heart disease, but they still died from liver failure, kidney failure, and other things that may have been caused by the medicines they were taking to lower their cholesterol. Pharmaceutical companies really have no interest in curing disease. They DO have an interest in creating NEW diseases for which they are happy to manufacture a treatment that you will have to take until you die. There have been cures for cancer for decades and decades. Cancer is basically a fungus that can be treated and cured with anti-fungal medications…many of which are only approved to be used in animals. But long-term treatment for cancer is very, very profitable for drug companies. So cures for human diseases is not really on the front burner for them. They are beholden in a fiduciary responsibility to make a profit for the stockholders.
