This is an uncertain time in the 9/11 case. The judge is hearing testimony this week from a forensic psychiatrist on whether confessions that the prosecution consider key trial evidence are tainted by torture.

The judge is also edging towards a decision on whether the Secretary of Defense legitimately rescinded the July 31 plea agreements.
Here’s my latest on that controversy …

This Retired General Settled the 9/11 Case. Then the Defense Secretary Took Charge.
Susan Escallier’s approval of a plea deal, one of the most important decisions in the history of Guantánamo Bay’s war court, has drawn attention to her role and the dysfunctional military commissions.

Nicolás Maduro spoke about the possible benefits of a Trump or Harris victory in the US elections:
"I am often asked what is better for Venezuela - [Donald] Trump winning or [Kamala] Harris winning?" […] I say: 'Whoever wins, the best thing for Venezuela and Latin America is for us to go our own way, not to depend on anyone and to secure our countries,'" he said in his show "With Maduro+".
In this context, he criticized some Latin American leaders who expressed support for certain candidates or interfered in the electoral process in the US.
"It is not appropriate for a Latin American leader to call for support for an American candidate or get involved in the US electoral process," he noted.
