Diplomatic incident between France and Israel

Israel arrested two French gendarmes in a church

As French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot was visiting Jerusalem, Israeli armed police entered the Eleona church site, which France has claimed as its own since 1948, and arrested two French gendarmes

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot was forced to abandon his scheduled visit at the Eleona Domain calling the incident unacceptable.

He was obviously very upset with Israel taking over French areas of responsibility in Jerusalem. It's not going down well.
