US accuses Iran of plotting to kill Trump
An Iranian national has been charged with murder-for-hire
Farhad Shakeri, Carlisle ‘Pop’ Rivera and Jonathon Loadholt were named in the criminal complaint unveiled on Friday by the Southern District of New York. Rivera was arrested in Brooklyn and Loadholt in Staten Island. Shakeri is “believed to reside” in Iran and remains at large.
“The charges announced today expose Iran’s continued brazen attempts to target US citizens, including President-elect Donald Trump, other government leaders and dissidents who criticize the regime in Tehran,” FBI Director Christopher Wray said in a statement.
Shakeri, 51, immigrated to the US as a child but was deported in 2008 after serving 14 years in prison on a robbery conviction. The DOJ alleges he is an asset of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), who used “a network of criminal associates he met in prison” to spy on targets and plot their deaths.
Rivera, 49 and Loadholt, 36, were allegedly promised $100,000 by Shakeri to stalk and kill an unidentified Iranian dissident (Victim-1).
According to the DOJ, Shakeri had several “recorded interviews with law enforcement agents,” in which he said he was tasked by the IRGC on October 7 to provide a plan for killing Trump.
“During the interview, Shakeri claimed he did not intend to propose a plan to kill Trump within the timeframe set by the IRGC,” the DOJ noted. It was unclear why Shakeri has not been arrested.
The three men were all charged with murder-for-hire, conspiracy and money laundering conspiracy, for facing a total of up to 40 years in prison if convicted. Shakeri has also been charged with providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization, conspiracy to do so, and violating US sanctions on Iran, and faces another 60 years in prison if ever caught and convicted.
While the DOJ noted that the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court, Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland have held up the indictment as proof that Iran is “actively targeting nationals of the United States and its allies living in countries around the world for attacks” motivated by vengeance for the 2020 death of IRGC Quds Force commander, General Qassem Soleimani.

The 45th and soon to be 47th president of the US survived an assassination attempt on July 13, during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The Secret Service killed the shooter, identified as a 20-year-old American Thomas Crooks. Another would-be assassin, Ryan Routh, was arrested in September after he set an ambush at a Florida golf course belonging to Trump. No Iranian connection was made in either case. Routh had previously tried to recruit Afghan veterans to fight for Ukraine against Russia.

Restructuring Underway At Soros Fund Management As Hong Kong Office To Shut
An administrative restructuring is underway at Soros Fund Management, founded by billionaire George Soros in the 1970s, as it plans to shutter its Hong Kong office, according to a Bloomberg report. Although the exact reasons were not disclosed, this move comes just days after Soros' son, Alex Soros, through the family's Open Society Foundations, wasted tens of millions of dollars backing the biggest Democrat loser in a generation: Kamala Harris.
The New York-based investment firm, best known for its $10 billion trade against the British pound in 1992, explained in an emailed statement that its Asia investments will now be managed by traders in its New York and London offices. The firm added that it will continue allocating capital to managers in Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
Bloomberg reporters working on the story could not obtain further comment from the investment firm.

This administrative restructuring at the investment firm comes months after a major restructuring occurred within OSF over the summer. OSF reportedly laid off over 40% of its workforce worldwide and implemented a new operating model.

With Overthrowing Iran On The Agenda, Western Media Ignore Facts To Spread Propaganda
While a potential war between Iran and Israel threatens to drag in the United States, in addition to its NATO allies, the Western corporate media is attempting to whip up a storm of anti-Iran stories to demonize the country’s government.
In the latest saga of media coverage that intends to paint the Iranian government as uniquely violent and oppressive, the corporate media is failing to do its job of looking at even the most basic of facts surrounding the cases they use to demonize Tehran. Although there are certainly issues inside Iran, socially and otherwise, these reports leave out key information and seek only to serve the interests of state-propaganda.
In late October the German government decided to shut down all of its Iranian consulates, located in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich. Berlin’s foreign minister Annalena Baerbock also announced that she would seek EU-wide sanctions against Tehran, specifically targeting to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). This came in reaction to Iran’s execution of a prisoner named Jamshid Sharmahd, who they accused of leading a terrorist group and of ordering the 2008 bombing of a Mosque that killed 14 innocent people and injured 200 others.
The Islamic Republic of Iran officially put out a red notice for Sharmahd and demanded he be extradited for helping to orchestrate terrorist attacks inside Iranian territory, which was ignored. In 2020, Sharmahd — who was living in California at the time — was traveling for around 3 months and went missing while stopping in Dubai, from which it is alleged he was taken captive by the Iranian security services. Iran later announced that he had been arrested inside Iran in a complex operation, while his phone was tracked to Oman days after his disappearance. It is still unclear whether he had covertly traveled to Iran or was taken captive in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as is being widely reported.
If you look at the reporting on this issue, Sharmahd is portrayed both by his family members and the corporate media as an independent journalist, while the claim of his innocence is also professed. However, there are interviews with Sharmahd on Persian media platforms where he admits to not only being part of a terrorist group, but also appears to brag about his groups involvement in terrorist attacks against civilians.
Iran’s foreign ministry put together a video compilation in which the man is speaking about the 2008 attack, featuring Sharmahd’s admissions to terrorist activity and footage from the mosque explosion. While this is clearly from a biased source and should not be simply taken as evidence at face value, other Farsi speakers have pointed out that other such admissions were captured on video. For instance, an interview conducted on an anti-Iranian government media outlet, featured similar admissions where Sharmahd even advocated a declaration of war on the IRGC, while the presenter appeared boastful about his involvement in the 2008 mosque attack.

Police consultancy group wants U.S. law enforcement to set up “misinformation” censorship units
A private consultancy group that works closely with law enforcement agencies across the country to help them come up with new policing techniques is pushing for police departments everywhere to establish special "misinformation" and "disinformation" units to tackle free speech.
Lexipol, as the group is called, published a rallying cry at Police1.com that rhetorically asks all law enforcement units across America whether or not they are "prepared (for) the battle against mis / disinformation."
Boasting contracts with more than 8,100 law enforcement agencies in 35 states, Lexipol uses "privatized police policymaking" techniques to transform public-serving peace officers into bootlicking private interest-serving tyrants. In this case, the company aims to turn ordinary police officers into politically correct speech enforcers.
Lexipol wants its "subscribers" in the law enforcement community to "collaborate with tech companies and civil society organizations to develop early-warning systems and identify harmful content in real time."
"This can be read as brazen defiance of the ongoing efforts, including in the US Congress, to put an end to just such 'collaboration' between private and government (here, law enforcement) entities – investigated in one instance as government-Big Tech collusion," writes Didi Rankovic for Reclaim the Net.
"But Lexipol's write-up plays on fears that it is 'disinformation' that might increase public hostility toward police officers and put them at greater risk."
Turning the police into snitches
In usual form, Lexipol really plays up the scaremongering about Russia, China, Iran and North Korea, describing these nations as "soft targets" that spread misinformation and disinformation. The only way to keep America "protected" from these countries is for police departments to develop "proactive strategies" against free speech.
What Lexipol is proposing differs very little from what the White House has been asking of social media companies like Facebook ever since Donald Trump took the political stage around 2016. The only difference is that police departments would be the ones to establish entire units "charged with identifying false information, fact-checking claims, and creating counter-narratives."
Lexipol is also concerned about artificial intelligence (AI) and how it might facilitate the spread of misinformation and disinformation, which it says "can significantly disrupt policing."
"When police officers, just like any other community members, are exposed to false information, and when they unknowingly share it, they contribute to spreading the mistrust," Lexipol says. "This in turn could undermine the officers' ability to make impartial decisions, particularly in politically charged situations."
The Jan. 6, 2021, "insurrection" was fueled, according to Lexipol, by "disinformation and misinformation about election fraud, leading to unprecedented violence and overwhelming police operations at the Capitol."
"Some officers were even perceived as sympathetic to the rioters, further eroding public confidence in law enforcement's impartiality," Lexipol claims.
"The incident not only highlighted how misinformation and disinformation can lead to large-scale violence, but how it can lead to the underestimation of the threat, thus complicating the appropriate planning and allocation of police resources. To prevent similar occurrences, police leaders must establish systems that counter disinformation and ensure officers remain both neutral and effective."
Public trust in government is already at an all-time low, and what Lexipol is proposing will only further erode what little trust remains. If We the People are forced to watch our police officers become free speech snitches in order to protect the evil empire, that trust could disappear entirely.

One day before the U.S. election, Israel told the United Nations that it would be cutting ties with UNRWA, its aid agency for Palestinian refugees. On Election Day itself, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed Defense Minister Yoav Gallant — who had challenged him on his approach to a ceasefire and the return of hostages. Later that night in Tel Aviv time, as Americans went to the polls, the Israeli military told national media that it is getting closer to the “complete evacuation” of northern Gaza, and residents would not be allowed to return.
The victory of Donald Trump wouldn’t become clear until the next morning in Israel, but Netanyahu acted as if his preferred candidate was already in the White House. The green light from the U.S. government to carry out his war is, apparently, glowing even brighter. That same night, Israeli Brig. Gen. Itzik Cohen said that humanitarian aid would no longer arrive in northern Gaza, since there are “no more civilians left.”
“That really is a frightening statement, because the intention is to leave nothing and no one living behind,” said Khaled Elgindy, a senior fellow at the Middle East Institute think tank. The U.N. warned last week that “the entire Palestinian population in North Gaza, especially children, is at imminent risk of dying from disease, famine, and the ongoing bombardments.”
Israel “understood they were going to have an entirely free hand to do what they wanted.”
The Harris campaign and Biden administration did not want to be seen as critical of Israel ahead of the election, according to Yousef Munayyer, head of the Palestine/Israel program at Arab Center Washington D.C. As a result, the Israeli government “understood they were going to have an entirely free hand to do what they wanted,” said Munayyer. “Netanyahu understood that he had an opportunity to do things in the last three months that he probably would have got a lot more pushback on if there wasn’t an election on the horizon.” That includes the pager attacks on Beirut and the assassination of Hezbollah leaders, he said.

The Biden administration has lifted a de facto ban on American military contractors deploying to Ukraine to help the country’s military maintain and repair US-provided weapons systems, particularly F16 fighter jets and Patriot air defense systems, an official with direct knowledge of the plan told CNN.
The new policy, approved earlier this month before the election, would allow the Pentagon to provide contracts to American companies for work inside Ukraine for the first time since Russia invaded in 2022. Officials said they hope it will speed up the maintenance and repairs of weapons systems being used by the Ukrainian military.
It is not clear whether Donald Trump will keep the policy in place when he takes office in January. Trump has said he hopes to end the war between Ukraine and Russia “within 24 hours” of returning to power.

Leiter, whose son was killed last year fighting in Gaza in the war against Hamas, will take office on January 20 when Donald Trump returns to the White House.
“Yechiel Leiter is a highly talented diplomat, an eloquent speaker, and has a deep understanding of American culture and politics,” Netanyahu said in a statement on Friday. “I am convinced that Yechiel will represent Israel in the best possible way, and I wish him success in his role.”
According to Haaretz, US-born Leiter was active in his youth in Rabbi Meir Kahane’s Jewish Defense League and immigrated to Israel with activists from the far-right organization.
After moving to Israel he received a PhD from Haifa University and has served as deputy director-general of the Education Ministry, chief of staff of then-finance minister Netanyahu and acting chairman of the Ports Authority.

President-elect Donald Trump has sent mixed signals for years on whether he would aim to fire or demote Fed Chair Jerome Powell when he reenters the Oval Office next year.
But Powell himself laid down a marker Thursday that he won’t be going anywhere, even if Trump tried.
"Not permitted under the law," the central bank chair said Thursday in curt but clear responses to reporters who asked about his views on any legal authorities Trump might have in terms of firing or demoting him or any other top Fed officials.

Federal Agency Accuses White House Official Of Violating Hatch Act
A federal investigative agency is requesting disciplinary action for Neera Tanden, who serves as one of President Joe Biden’s domestic policy advisors, over her allegedly violating a law that prohibits solicitations for partisan political candidates.
The agency, known as the U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC), announced the complaint on Nov. 7 while highlighting recent posts Tanden made on the social media platform X. According to the agency’s complaint, Tanden violated the Hatch Act by posting or reposting solicitations for donations to Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign, as well as multiple Democratic congressional candidates.
“Congress created a rule banning all federal employees from fundraising for political candidates,“ Special Counsel Hampton Dellinger said.
“The Hatch Act contains no escape hatch for White House officials.”
The White House did not respond to The Epoch Times’ request for comment before publishing time. According to Politico, White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said Tanden took “compliance with the Hatch Act seriously.”
Tanden served as White House staff secretary before Biden promoted her last year to be one of his domestic policy advisors. Biden had nominated her to lead his Office of Management and Budget, but she backed out amid scrutiny over other social media posts.
In its Nov. 6 complaint, the special counsel office said it notified the White House Counsel’s Office on Aug. 30 that Tanden was in violation of the Hatch Act after her post two days prior promoting four candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives.
Tanden eventually removed that post on Sept. 3 but two days later reposted a video of actor Michael Keaton asking for funds to support Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) in his campaign for reelection, the complaint said. In September, subsequent posts from Tanden promoted solicitations for Democrat Lucas Kunce, who was running to unseat Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.); Democratic House candidate Rebecca Cooke of Wisconsin; and Democratic House candidate Will Rollins of California.
“Each of Tanden’s three subsequent posts … was also made after Tanden was notified that making such posts violated the Hatch Act prohibition against soliciting political contributions,” the OSC’s complaint read.
The OSC’s complaint requested that the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) penalize Tanden under a federal law that outlines removal, suspension, monetary fines, or “reprimand” as potential punishments.
Bates reportedly pointed to a 2021 report wherein the special counsel office raised constitutional concerns with the MSPB disciplining individuals directly appointed by the president. That report said that OSC “may not pursue disciplinary action through the MSPB” for commissioned officers, or those appointed by the president, and Senate-confirmed presidential appointees.
For both types of appointees, the OSC said it “must report its findings to the president” and allow the president to take appropriate action.
