New Jersey Wildfire Update: Dozens of Structures Threatened
One of several New Jersey wildfires is threatening dozens of structures in the upper part of the state, officials said on Saturday. A dry spell across the Northeast has exacerbated drought and wildfire conditions across several states, and on Friday, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service warned of several fires that had broken out across The Garden State. The whole state of New Jersey is currently under extreme fire danger, according to a map posted on the Forest Fire Service's website. OVER 50 STRUCTURES THREATENED BY WILDFIRE The wildfire in the Pompton Lakes area of Passaic County has burned through 100 acres, the Forest Fire Service said Saturday. This fire in the upper part of the state has threatened 55 structures, according to the Forest Fire Service.
