Diamond, a national voice on youth sports safety and professor of orthopaedic surgery, pediatrics and neurological surgery at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, has been heartbroken like many others by the three young Nashville area cross country runners who have died since August.
