saying 'make people pray' sounds like religious tyranny.
maybe 'Let people pray' would be what you mean, in the spirit of

no need to call Donald Trump 'President Elect' as he already has the title 'President Trump' and can be called that as that title stays with you after your term is over. So it's still his title.
He is the 'President Elect' but we can say
"President Trump is the President Elect"
and don't need to say
"President Elect Trump is the President Elect"
