To me, the post (1441) that said "start the clock", it was made in the context of photos that were taken from an airplane. At the start of a flight it is a part of the pre flight checklist. And they will say, start the clock. So I simply take it as an aviation reference to the flight. Q parroting what the flight crew was saying.
