I actually tried keto a few years ago for my epilepsy (70% cure rate for most people with epilepsy, after 2 years people can go back to regular diet and be CURED!!) and unfortunately it didn't seem to work, but I know why it didn't work and it was because I was nutrient deficient already and wasn't getting nearly enough fat in my diet.
