Two Whistle-Blowers Say They Were Run Out of VA in Jennings, Louisiana

 

Two whistle-blowers at a Louisiana Veterans Affairs hospital say they found widespread corruption and were subjected to uncomfortable retaliation when they brought their concerns forward.

Crystal LeJeune and Harvey Norris are whistle-blowers and former employees of the Alexandria, Louisiana VA Medical Center system.

Each worked at a clinic in Jennings, Louisiana — which was part of the Alexandria VA Health Care system; both are speaking out exclusively for the first time to The Daily Caller.

Both say that not only did they find widespread waste, fraud, and abuse — primarily in the Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) department — but experienced retaliation for speaking out.

A big regional bank is set to be freed from Fed oversight

 

Zions, a Salt Lake City-based regional bank, is set to be freed from oversight by the Federal Reserve, thanks to a decision announced Wednesday by federal regulators.

The Financial Stability Oversight Council, the supergroup of regulators created by the 2010 Dodd-Frank law, announced that it had voted unanimously to allow Zions to avoid Fed scrutiny after it reorganizes its business structure.

“The council conducted a careful analysis of Zions’ business and found that there is not a significant risk that Zions could pose a threat to U.S. financial stability,” Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, the council’s chairman, said in a statement.

Democrat: Russian election meddling is a '9/11 national emergency'

 

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., charged Wednesday that President Trump's reluctance to admit Russia's election meddling has thrown the U.S. into a crisis on the order of the 9/11-level terrorist attacks.

 

"We are in a 9/11 national emergency, because our country is under attack," Blumenthal told CNN. "Literally, that attack is ongoing and pervasive, verified by objective and verifiable evidence."

Russia demands proof of 'nonsense' election meddling claims

 

Russia's ambassador to the U.S. on Wednesday said the Trump administration needs to provide proof that Russian officials meddled in the 2016 election, or stop talking about it.

"As for interference, to paraphrase a Chinese proverb, one cannot make a tiger of one hundred mice," Ambassador Anatoly Antonov said, according to Russia's state-owned news service Tass. "No matter how many accusations, the key demand is to furnish evidence."

"The U.S. wants to announce a verdict first and then have a conversation," Antonov added.

Health Care should ONLY be between the physician and patient to avoid conflict of interest.
