Louisville again, this is not very far from the site of the explosion the other day.

 

I think, yet to confirm that this is demolition that did not account for the underground. If it's what I think this is a former projects/sec 8 senior apt bldg.

Former jail.

A man has been trapped in rubble for more than seven hours after falling at a construction site near downtown Louisville.

Louisville Fire officials said the worker fell into a void space around 11:40 a.m. Thursday in the 300 block of E Chestnut street.

 

The former community correctional center there is being demolished to make way for the future site of LOUMED Commons.

 

Officials said the man was on site with five other workers when he fell 10-12 feet. When he fell, rubble then fell on top of him and he was pinned.

 

Fire crews said they are in the process of rescuing the man from the rubble and were communicating with him via translator, as he doesn't speak English.

 

Fire chief Brian O'Neill said around 2 p.m. that the rescue could take hours and it will be a "very slow process" because of how easily the debris can shift around.
